En la localidad de Bahía Felipe, costa noroccidental de Tierra del Fuego, se detectaron dos depósitos cuyas formaciones tenían el aspecto de los característicos chenkes indígenas del sector continental de Magallanes. Tras la excavación de uno de ellos se constató su carácter funerario al recuperarse los restos de 5 individuos con signos esqueletales propios de los cazadores recolectores terrestres de la región no obstante la poca robustez relativa de los restos si se considera como referencia el material Selk'nam conocido. Si bien aún no se poseen dataciones absolutas y su
cronología relativa es incierta, debido a la ausencia de material cultural diagnóstico, estimamos su ubicación dentro de la unidad temporal tardía de Tierra del Fuego.
In the coastal place of Bahía Felipe, northwest of Tierra del Fuego, we detected two deposits with the typical aspect of the continental patagonian Indian chenkes. After the excavation of one of them we verify the funerary character of it, recovering five individuals whose skeletal signs reveal a terrestrial hunter-gatherer way of life in spite of their low robustness in relation to the known Selk'nam material. Ever if we don't have yet absolute dates and its relative chronology is uncertain, because the absence of diagnostic cultural material, we estimate it is part of the late temporal unity of Tierra del Fuego.
